Walked to work today

This morning, I dropped off the car at Downtown Toyota and decided to walk the rest of the way to work. That was actually a good work out (by my low standards). If I walked directly from home, it would be another 15 minutes and 0.8 miles for a total of 3.5 miles and 68 minutes by Google Maps standards (it was actually pretty accurate for today's walk time).
 
I'm definitely feeling the pains of being overweight and old. I think I'll incorporate this walk a couple of times into my week's sparse exercise schedule. One thing I'll definitely NOT do is lug my backpack with a laptop in it. My legs and knees are fine but my shoulders are killing me.

I'm using the month graph instead of the week graph from Weightbot. I think it makes me feel better since the trend is going down.

Exercise has remained the same. Definitely not eating properly. Not that it has anything to do with my weight but just started taking fish oil pills. Omega 3 whatever. Supposed to be good for my ticker.

Weigh-in-Wednesday, 2/4/09 - 190.5 lbs

Not a big improvement but no backslide, either. I was briefly below 190 lbs for a few days but have slowly crept up. Maybe it's time to walk a little more.

Weigh-in-Wednesday, 1/28/09 - 191.5 lbs

Slight improvement. Let's hope there's no backslide like in previous weeks.

Forgot to do the Weigh-In, 1/22/09 - 192.5 lbs

Forgot to do the Weigh-In yesterday. Today's weight stands at 192.5 lbs - no big difference from last week. I actually missed out on basketball this past Tuesday and the weather just turned south so I didn't get my walk in. I'm hoping next week will turn out better.

Weigh-in-Wednesday, 1/14/09 - 194.5 lbs

A little bit of a backslide this week - gained 2 lbs from last weigh-in. I guess I'll need to add another day of exercise to the regimen. I'm going to try doing BART on Thursdays from now on. It's about a 10 minute walk to BART from our place and then another 10 minute walk to the office. On the way back, I think I'm going to try and foot it all the way home. It's 3.5 miles so should take about an hour and a half. Let's hope that puts a dent in next week's weigh-in.

Weigh-in-Wednesday, 1/7/09 - 192.5 lbs

In keeping with my New Year's resolution to lose some weight, I'll officially post my weight status every Wednesday. Here's the inaugural posting with a screenshot of Weightbot. As you can see, I was fairly steady state until today when I dropped 2 pounds. What was the secret? About an hour and a half of full court basketball plus a salad for dinner last night.
