This is an excerpt from a GQ interview with LeBron. Of course, I don't agree with his method of leaving Cleveland (The Decision) but I never had an issue with him wanting to go somewhere else to play. It's a free country and he can go any where he wants. As we know loyalty is only skin deep when it comes to players and owners.

The above quote should give people some insight into LeBron's mind though as it relates to Cleveland and his true hometown Akron. I hear a lot of folks bash LeBron because he turned his back on his hometown. But that's simply not true because LeBron never considered Cleveland his hometown. A more closer to home example for me would be if someone from the East Bay called San Francisco their hometown. It ain't. Two different cities that might as well be separated by 100 or 1,000 miles than just 10 culturally speaking.

I don't know much about Rebecca Kaplan. I'm only hearing about her candidacy for mayor of Oakland after reading the Q&A re: the proposed Oakland Streetcar Line. Her bio definitely sets her apart from the current batch of Oakland politicians. MIT Degree and JD from Stanford (won't hold it against her) in addition to being intimately knowledgeable of public transportation systems. Could be what Oakland needs... somebody not Ron Dellums.

This plan just sounds way too logical to actually happen. My hope is that Oakland's politicians don't do anything to screw this up. A tall order, no doubt.

This is historic in more ways than one. I wonder if scotch would hold up after 100 years like port would. Especially when it's been frozen and then thawed.

I'm a big fan of infographics. This one explains how credit card companies make money pretty clearly.

It amazes me how much money credit card companies make even when you think that they only make a thin slice from each transaction. I'm not even counting the interest they charge on revolving balances. Millions upon millions of transactions every day make those pennies add up pretty quickly.
